How do I discuss recurring freight?
Send the lane, the shipment pattern and the volume you expect. Freight Nova can review recurring dry van inquiries for regional or OTR movements and discuss availability and terms.
A repeating shipment needs more context than a one-time quote. “Two loads per week” might mean two firm Monday appointments or a flexible forecast spread across the week. Describe the actual pattern so both sides are discussing the same work.
Build a useful lane brief
| Planning detail | What makes it useful |
|---|---|
| Origin and destination | Full facility addresses, not just metro names |
| Frequency | Expected pickup days and the number of loads per period |
| Volume | Firm orders, forecast range and known peak periods |
| Equipment | Freight weight, dimensions and handling needs |
| Appointments | Fixed slots, booking responsibility and receiving hours |
| Notice | How far ahead each load is tendered and how changes are communicated |
Include any requirement for drop-and-hook, multiple stops or special loading arrangements. These need to be reviewed specifically; a recurring lane does not establish that every equipment or handling option is available.
What is confirmed before work begins?
Capacity, shipment requirements and commercial terms need to be agreed for the arrangement. Discuss how individual loads are offered, how appointment changes are handled and which contact receives shipment questions. Do not treat a submitted inquiry as a capacity commitment.
If the first shipment is already ready, put that date in the quote request and describe the longer-term pattern in the freight details. Brokers who need company documents can request a carrier packet alongside the lane discussion.
Regional or over-the-road?
Use the same brief for Northeast and Mid-Atlantic freight or OTR shipments. The coverage page explains the operating scope; actual availability is confirmed for the proposed origin, destination and dates.
