53-foot Dry Van Truckload Freight

Enclosed, non-refrigerated trailer capacity for general dry freight. Share the commodity, dimensions, weight and loading requirements to confirm equipment fit.

What is dry van freight?

Dry van freight travels in an enclosed trailer without active temperature control. Freight Nova uses 53-foot dry van trailers for general dry freight, with late-model tractors.

The starting point is the product, not just the number of pallets. Describe what is being shipped, how it is packaged and whether it has handling requirements. A nominal trailer length does not establish usable interior dimensions, legal payload or suitability for a particular commodity.

What should a truckload quote include?

Send enough detail to evaluate both the load and the facilities. The same pallet count can represent very different weight, space and loading requirements.

Detail What to include
Freight Commodity, packaging, total loaded weight and dimensions
Pickup Full address, freight-ready date and loading window
Delivery Full address, receiving window and appointment status
Handling Palletized or floor-loaded freight, stackability and special instructions
Site access Dock arrangements, truck entrance and any trailer-length restrictions

A dry van does not provide temperature control. Identify any product-specific requirements before discussing equipment. If the shipment needs a liftgate, special securement or drop-and-hook arrangements, say so at the start so suitability and availability can be reviewed.

How is the shipment confirmed?

A quote request starts a review of capacity, equipment fit and shipment details. Pickup and delivery arrangements, routing, stops and commercial terms are confirmed for the individual shipment. Submitting the form does not reserve a truck.

For a shipment below a full truckload, describe its actual dimensions and weight. Freight Nova can review whether it can accommodate the request; this is not a published LTL schedule or a parcel service.

Where can the freight go?

Freight Nova is based in Philadelphia and serves Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regional lanes, with over-the-road coverage across the contiguous United States. The lane directory gives planning details for several named destinations.

Request a dry van quote with your origin, destination and freight details. Brokers can also request a carrier setup packet.

FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, contact dispatch and we will help.

01Is a dry van temperature controlled?

A dry van is an enclosed trailer without active temperature control. Tell Freight Nova if your product has temperature or other handling requirements before requesting equipment.

02How much weight fits in a 53-foot dry van?

Trailer length alone does not establish allowable payload. Supply the total loaded weight, dimensions and weight distribution so the assigned equipment and route can be reviewed.

03Can I request less than a full truckload?

Yes, you can send the details of a smaller shipment for review. Acceptance depends on the shipment and available capacity; Freight Nova does not advertise a scheduled LTL network.
